For me, the year 2007 had a lot of happiness (and hope for 2008). Happiness because i see my son, grow and grow day by day. I have a great husband. I met lots of new friends from around the world via blogging ^_^ - Juliana RW

In 2007, I become happier than before because my hubby’s got promotion and sure his salary had been increased. This had made my life more comfortable but everything seemed to cost an arm and a leg nowadays. The happiest memory is I see Nelson’s tummy becoming bigger and bigger, he can now count number 1 to number 10, by my guidance. He loves eating and he enjoys every meal. He gives us a lot of happiness by the way he mimic our talking style and making such lovely faces. At first, I was so scared to look after him but now I hope he can be with me all the time. Even I feel tired everyday but I feel my life is meaningful. Hazel

Looking back at 2007, it signifies a few milestones of my life.. the major one of course being the birth of baby zen.. awwww... He was absolutely a delight, though there were times when we were so worried he was not getting enough milk.. as he wasn't gaining weight as much as he should. Now, looking at him, we feel that we had done something right in our lifetime to deserve such such a wonderful baby.. Thank you hubby for giving us baby zen :-) sting

This year has been another roller-coaster year for me. The best memories are the time when Aldrin uttered words of promises to me that things would be better this year onwards although until end of the year nothing much has improved. Also the best memories when I first got my pay slip and saw that it was true that I got a 47% salary raised from my lowly unjustified old salary. I am also happy to see my beloved sister happily got married and watching Jojo (my dog) grow up to be an adorable, beautiful and obedient 2 year old ;p - Amidrin

It wasn’t a great start in the beginning, but things just got better and better, in personal life and also at work. I am grateful for everything and am looking forward to another great year ahead. - Colleen

Merry X'mas everyone....

6 lil' thoughts
Busy period is finally over “temporarily”. Yesterday, HR sent an email telling us that X’mas eve is an off-day. :-) Felt so great, it’s the first time in history, I heard.

I didn’t shop as much as I wanted to during this festive season. Partly because it’s raining almost every other day. Partly because I spent a lot in China. Considered done shopping. :-p

Well, not gonna write much here.

Wishing everyone a Merry X’mas… and have a good holiday. :-)

Sound so purrrfect.... :-)

2 lil' thoughts
An old friend posted this in Friendster's bulletin.

When she walks away from you mad
[ Follow her ]

When she stares at your mouth
[ smile...then kiss her ]

When she pushes you or hits you
[ hug her tight ]

When she starts cursing at you
[ say I love you ]

When she's quiet
[ hold her hand and ask what's wrong ]

When she ignores you
[ act cute so she'll notice you ]

When she pulls away
[ Pull her back ]

When you see her at her worst
[ tell her you love her and she still looks amazing ]

When you see her start crying
[hold her...ask her what's wrong]

When you see her walking
[ approach her.. give a kiss on the cheek. ]

When she's scared
[assure her you're not going to leave her ]

When she lays her head on your shoulder
[ tilt your head too and hold her hand ]

When she steals your favorite hat
[ let her keep it]

When she teases you
[ Tease her back and make her laugh ]

When she doesn’t answer for a long time
[ reassure her that everything is okay ]

When she looks at you with doubt
[ Back yourself up ]

When she says that she likes you
[ she really does more than you could understand ]

When she grabs at your hands
[ Hold hers and play with her fingers ]

When she bumps into you
[ bump into her back and make her laugh ]

When she tells you a secret
[ keep it safe and untold ]

When she looks at you in your eyes
[don’t look away until she does ]

When she misses you
[ she's hurting inside ]

When you break her heart
[ the pain never really goes away ]

When she says its over
[ she still wants you to be hers ]

- Stay on the phone with her even if she’s not saying anything.

- When she's mad hug her tight and don't let go

- When she says she's ok don’t believe it, talk with her

- because 10 yrs later she'll remember you:

- Call her at 12:00am on her birthday to tell her you love her

- Call her before you sleep and after you wake up

- Treat her like she's all that matters to you.

- Tease her and let her tease you back.

- Stay up all night with her when she's sick.

- Watch her favorite movie with her or her favorite show even if you think its stupid.

- Give her the world.

- Let her wear your clothes.

- When she's bored and sad, hang out with her.

- Let her know she's important.

- Kiss her in the pouring rain.

- When she runs up at you crying, the first thing you say is; "Whose ass am I kicking babe?"

Business tripS

6 lil' thoughts
I have just came back from Wuxi, from a 4 days business trip.

Yesterday, I took a 1350 flight from Shanghai Pudong airport, but we were not allowed to take-off until 5 plus. Imagine, stucked in the plane, for 3 hours plus, STATIC. Goodness, touching down at 2230, I was lucky R came to pick me. But he looked tired. Reached home at 2330, I was exhausted. Not sure what in the world was wrong with the air traffic controller. It was sickening when you hear the pilot says:

“Ladies and gentleman, this is your pilot, so-and-so speaking. I am sorry to inform you there is a delay in our flight. We were just informed by the air traffic controller that we are not able to take-off. No finite time is given. We would have to wait at least 2 hours for clearance. Meanwhile, I will update you every half hour.”

THEN almost an hour later:

“Ladies and gentleman, this is your pilot, so-and-so speaking. I am sorry to inform you that we are STILL not able to take-off. We are number 20 in line. We are not given the finite time to take-off. Apologise for inconvenience caused. Our ground crew will re-arrange connecting flights for those transiting in Sg. Really sorry for the inconvenience. Please feel free to approach our cabin crew should you need any assistance.”

THEN almost an hour later:

“Ladies and gentleman, this is your pilot, so-and-so speaking. I have a good news for you. (My heart was popping hard, thought we can finally take-off!!!) For the past hour or so, 5 planes took-off, and now, we are number 15 in line.” (Gosh……. You can imagine how I felt at that time…)

THEN almost an hour later:

“Ladies and gentleman, this is your pilot, so-and-so speaking. Finally, we have got clearance from the air traffic controller. We are ready to take-off in 5 mins. Cabin crew, please select doors to automatic and prepare for departure.”

Now, I am “fishing” in the office. Tons of work as usual, due to traveling, work piles up but my eyes can barely stay open.

Have just confirmed next week itinerary. Not gonna be a good one.

1) Flying to Shanghai early morning on 27th Nov, Tues.
2) Flying to Shenzhen in the evening.
3) Flying back to Wuxi the next evening.
4) Make my way to Shanghai on 29th Nov, Thurs.
5) Meeting with customer on 30th Nov, Fri.
6) I am not sure if I should stay in Shanghai for the weekend or back to Wuxi.
7) Stay for a week in Wuxi.
8) Flying back to Sg on 8th Dec.

Madness…….. but I feel good to be back for a while.

Differences

8 lil' thoughts
Dad says, ‘no one in the world has same frequency, same principle, characters or thinking as us. The most important thing is how you give in and accommodate each other”.

Mum says, ‘you have better consider properly’.

That was when I told parents our differences in thinking and principles.

He is a Gemini, he “thinks”. I am a Cancerian, I “feel”.

He thinks logics. I think logics are nonsense.

How can one be logical all the time? It’s so boring.

Coupon Chief

0 lil' thoughts

Time flies, fast. The holiday season is just around the corner again. It was Halloween, Deepavali coming up next, followed by Thanksgiving, X’mas, New Year and so on.

While shopping online using online coupons, at CouponChief.com, I make my shopping list.

As R has just began experiment on how red wine is good for health, he’ll be delighted to receive Riedel wine glasses and decanters are the finest glassware for enhancing the enjoyment of wine and spirits from the Wine Enthusiast. Tests have shown that the shape and construction of glassware can significantly improve the bouquet and flavor of wines. :-)

For my visit to Penang end of the year, I would have the 10pc cookware set from cooking.com to be sent to JTSK. She loves cookware but I wonder if she still has time to cook after having baby. :-)

Back From KL

0 lil' thoughts
Came back from KL on Tuesday, missed Princess like crazy. Weird, when I was at home and she kept calling “Ah Yee” every other second, I felt tired. Without her calling, I feel empty. :-(

Mum cooked all my fave food, whipped up good home cooked food that I longed. It’s difficult to feel belonged to home nowadays. I left home for 8 over years; the longest I stayed at home during vacation was less than a week. Felt like a traitor, but that’s a fact. There is nothing much at home that belongs to me anymore, piano, a room named mine and a few Eiffel Tower puzzles that are yet be framed.

Sis also baked cakes for me. I do not fancy cake, other than cheese cake. She baked banana cakes, chocolate cakes and cheese cake. Colleagues and R’s mum say they are nice. :-) My sis was flattered.

It’ll be some time before I head home again. Meanwhile, I have just received news that I have to be in Wuxi from 18th Nov till 8th Dec, 3 whole weeks. :-( Just hoping one of the customers to cancel their visit, then I can have a shorter trip.

Yippie! I will be going back to KL for the weekend. It’s such a blessing customer invites me to visit their new plant in USJ, then I can make full use of the plane tickets. :-p

I have not been back since Aunt passed away in June. That was like ages ago. The last trip back, bro, gf and I stayed less than 24 hours. No wonder I thought of home more and more often now. Even dad called up the other day. As usual, when dad calls, means, I am away for far too long. Hehehe…

This time round, I am going to spend 5 full days in KL, with 1 day at customer’s plant. Yay… yay…. :-)

Mom sounded so excited when I called her yesterday. As usual, the Royal Chef asked “what do you want to eat other than the herbal chicken soup?” Hahaha… home cooked food, here I come!!!

Sis also asked what cake I would wanna eat, choc or cheese? Yummy, can’t wait…..

Other than that, I want to eat HK Chee Cheong Fun ah…. Yong tau fu ah… I will definitely gain more weight. :-(

Picture time

1 lil' thoughts
I am back, safe but not really sound. Do not know what went wrong, after the Korean food for lunch on Sat, I vomitted and had tummy cramp for practically the whole evening. Nearly couldn't make it to airport and make my way back. Anyway, I am on MC today, Doc says I have stomach flu. R and DW (my colleague) say stomach flu is contagious, so, I have no choice but to work from home. :-(

These are the pics taken before I was "down".

In Wuxi

0 lil' thoughts
I am away to (at) Wuxi. Will be back to Sg, touching down on Sun morning.

This trip, I am taking midnight flights, to and fro.

Last night, the luggage was so heavy, I tumbled down the stairs. I was being very careful since my back has just recovered. Dropping the bag onto the conveyor, 19.3kg it read. Phew… not overloaded. Now, backache, shoulders ache. Wish for massage... how I wish D and YJ are here. Hahaha…

Boss asked if I slept on the plane. Actually, sort of. I chose a 2 seaters and the flight wasn’t full. Blessed. :-) [But I didn’t get to watch any show coz I was so sleepy, my battery went almost flat.]

Very tired now in the office, but grateful that it’s cooler these days. Celebrating Diana’s (belated) birthday tonight. She fell last night, on her birthday. I asked if it was because she couldn’t contain the excitement being someone lived for half a century. Yaya…. I was mean, but thank goodness she’s fine.

JJ was asking me, what age we should be getting for the candle on the birthday cake. When I celebrated my birthday here in July, I asked for an “18”. Every year “18” I said. How about for Diana? Putting an “18” will definitely cheer her up. :-)

Heart Of Greed

1 lil' thoughts
I have just finished watching the 40-episode Heart Of Greed (溏心風暴). Felt so great watching Cantonese show. Been time… since I came to Sg… N years ago. :-p

It was a great show, made me laugh, made me cry, and reminded me once again to treasure our loved ones. Do not take them for granted. Ya, easier said than done.

Now, few days after I finished the show, I still think of the 3 songs.

Firstly, the opening theme 講不出聲 by Susanna.

Then, the touching song by Christine Glass, My Love Will Get You Home

Last but not least, song by Don Mclean, "Vincent"

What are the best gifts for him, the man in my life…

Garages storage systems look like the best gift. They provide a total storage solution for him, to keep his tools.

The system constructed with stacking holes, coordinating bases and a standard unit dimension, we can customize a system for our garage.

They are made of heavy gauge steel, high-impact polymers and very durable.

Blogs Do Make Money Community

0 lil' thoughts
I started off this blog to share my little thoughts. Then progressed to write paid posts and get paid.

If you ask me now, do I write for the sake of writing or do I write for the sake of the pay... I do not know how to answer. A bit of both I guess.

Why not have the best in both world. I do what I love to do, writing and sharing, and get paid at the same time. :-)

Portable DVD player

Good news for those who are “chauffeuring” your kids around and need help to keep your kids’ butt on the car seats. Hehe… introducing to you a 10 inch DVD player (or 26.4cm in SI metric), perfect for your kids, whenever you drive them around, not just to classes and tuitions, but also long car ride for family outing, no?

The portable DVD player comes with a re-chargeable battery pack that gives you up to 4 hours continuous play time. Not enough for 2 series of Harry Porter? Not to worry, you can also plug it directly to your cigarette lighter for in-car use.

The player can play most DVDs and CDs, including MP3, MP4, VCD, DIVX and JPEG formats. It also comes with a built-in surround sound effect stereo speakers with Dolby Digital decoding and anti shock suspension for your restless kids.

Now you can have a peace of mind when you are “chauffeuring” your kids around. =)

Have you ever....

0 lil' thoughts
Have you ever fell in love with someone you thought you know very well but then, incidents after incidents reveal another side of him or her that makes you think again, “do I know him/her that well?”

Have you ever fell in love with someone and yet you think you may not have bright future together?

Have you ever fell in love with someone of your total opposite and have nothing in common?

Have you ever fell in love with someone holding so strongly to his/her principles that it hurts you?

Life reveals itself in a very mysterious way. If you say yes to any of the above, good luck I guess.

My rojak Chinese...

2 lil' thoughts
Beware, below is an entry about medical. I am not “medically” inclined, so the terms I used are layman terms. :-p

Went to the Singapore Chung Hwa Medical Institution at Toa Payoh to get my back checked again. Sharp pain comes and go. Sore pain comes and go.

It was my first time there. HY sent May and I to the “hospital” and we took the queue number before going for dinner. Registration started at 6.30pm and May advised me to see a senior consultant who is very experienced. So, to her I went. May told me after dinner, “one thing I didn’t tell you is, there will be apprentice in the consultation room”. I was taken aback, “huh, apprentice? Then no privacy ah?”

While waiting for V (D’s hubby), I peeped into the consultation room through the small window. WOW! APPRENTICE is an understatement. APPRENTICES! There were 6 of them in the small room with 6 patients!

The apprentices were taking notes. The lady sinsei was blunt and fierce. She reprimanded the apprentices and the patients. “Air-cond feels good huh. Now you know pain ah” “Don’t wear short pants to sleep in air-cond room ah, wear long pants ah” “Ate too much meat, time to go on diet ah”… bla bla bla…

Then I became “gan cheong”. Was worried she’ll scold me for some “sin” I have done that caused my back pain.

What kind of pain you feel?" she asked in Chinese. (Chinese are highlighted in orange here)
Sometimes “sharp pain”, and sometimes sore pain” I replied. Not able to express myself well in Chinese.
What sharp pain? Zhen tong is it?
Ya, zhen tong”.
Then say zhen tong, don’t say what sharp pain. Youngsters nowadays, speak Rojak Chinese”.

:-( wawawa... how do we "banana" express ourselves in full Chinese sentence? :-(

Once “kraccckkkk” to the left, and once to the right. Then 3 more times on the spine. That was it. Felt better.

But pain came back yesterday. I think I should really go for a scan.

The age I wish to go back to......

6 lil' thoughts
A new blogger friend, Amidrin started a tag on The Age That I Wish To Go Back To. I have been scratching my head for few days.

Memories, snapshots, incidents, and the years since school days flashed in my mind. Too fast, I couldn’t think of what age I would like to go back to.

12 for the innocence? 16 for the youth? 21 for the early adulthood? There are many things we regret in life. Regret treating who and who badly, regret neglecting your loved ones, snapped at them, worst, when you couldn’t be there for them when they need you.

I wish to go back to year 2002 when I was 23. Graduated from Penang, I came to Sg in March, leaving behind all beloved ones, ie. dad, mom, sis, bros, niece and mama (our beloved nanny).

Mama fell sick before I left for Penang. She said she’ll wait for me, she’ll see me graduate. She did. I last visited her when I was about to leave for Sg in March’02. She said, she’ll wait for my wedding day. And so I hung on her words. I vowed that I would buy food for her, with my first pay check.

I found my first job in 1.5 months and started work for 2 weeks before making a trip to KL. Back home, when I voiced out to mum, saying I wanted to visit mama. She told me in the car “mama has passed on”. I was stunned. I said “no…. mama said she’ll wait for me to get married. And I have not even got my first pay!”

Mum said mama passed away the very first few days I started work and family kept it from me coz worried it may affect me. I cried and cried, from KL, back to Sg. I am still crying today if I talk about her. I feel sad, coz I didn’t attend her wake, her funeral and say bye to her.

Mum stopped me from visiting mama at the mortuary for years. Last year I finally managed to persuade her. I kneeled and cried. Before visiting mama, she was always alive, her voice kept calling me “Ah May, now grown up already”, “Ah May, when did you come back from Penang?”, “Ah May, when are you leaving again?”

Now, I accepted the fact that mama has left. But her voice is always in my mind. If I could turn back time, and I know mama will be leaving me, I would postpone my trip to Sg. I would stay home and spend more time with her.

But then… that if we know………..
Now, what age would you wish to go back to?

2) Nesh

Am back....

0 lil' thoughts
I am back. Thanks for all the best wishes. :-) How was exam you may ask. One word, TOUGH. Sigh... I thought I was more or less prepared, but the questions still caught me off guard.

Worse case, at the last 5 mins in the long questions paper, when the examiner said to a classmate, that he should re-do the whole graph again. I double checked my graph. GOD! I didn’t realize the question gave us the target value, and I spent 10 mins to calculate the target value, getting some decimal places in between, and round up to a bigger integer. And you guessed right, I did it wrongly. Lucky thing was, there was 5 mins left, I corrected the value in the table and started erasing the plotting on the graph and made it when the examiner said “1 more mins, please check all your answers”.

Phew… for the whole Sat afternoon, I have been thinking of the DNOM chart. I should have read twice, thrice and however many times I am supposed to, but I just didn’t. I was overly confident on that question, other than the DOE part. Just pray hard I didn’t do any careless mistake in the average effect calculations.

After exam, I felt lost. Empty. Have been attending classes for the past 4 months and thinking of the exam for whole of last month, and it’s finally over. Result will be out in 6 weeks time. Though I feel that I may have marginally passed or failed, I am hoping for the best, and preparing for the worse. :-(

Dinner
Went to library to get 2 books then met up with AT, SW, her fiancé, and her fiancé’s friend for dinner. Have not met SW since A Level, which was like almost a decade. Haha… and I have known her for 2 decades. :-p

We had Vietnamese food. Then we had some dessert and proceeded to coffee at Bugis Junction when AT suddenly said “let’s watch Balls of Fury. My gf doesn’t like this kind of boh-liao show”. I was like, “I have not even heard of the show, but seeing you are leaving, and I very bored, ok lor”. At 7.50pm, we bought the 7.50pm show. SW, fiancé, and his friend didn’t want to join coz they have to attend church service early on the next day.

Balls of Fury
So we rushed up to Shaw. The show just started, just nice. It’s really a boh-liao show, but hilarious. Good enough to de-stress. We had a good laugh, that’s very important after my exam. :-p

The show ended at 9 or so, and we went for a drink at Terra. AT called Rickson who came to Sg 2 months ago. Rickson is our high school friend. Rickson came, with gf and we chatted. Been years since I last met Rickson actually.

The 3 of them talked about finance, how much this friend is earning and stuffs, and as usual, when comes to finance, I am a total idiot. More inferior when I was told those friends in oil & gas are earning a fortune. God….

BFD
Our catch-up drink ended at almost 11pm, when I was supposed to meet an ex colleague for a drink at East Coast Park. We reached BFD at about 11.30, and were told that the kitchen is closed, so, there were only drinks and chips available. No sausages for me… :-(

He shot 2 IQ questions….. And I gave up the moment he finished the questions. No fun, he said. Damn lazy to think. :-p

A glass of margarita was it took to make me tipsy. :-( Been 2 months since I went drinking. Hehehe…

Back drop dead, but woke up at 7am on Sunday…… damn…..

Shoot em'Up
Watched Shoot em’Up with R on Sunday. Sigh…. It’s a M18 show, pervasive strong bloody violence, sexuality and some language. :-(

An overly exaggerated plot. Bad guys don’t die easily, do they?

I will be back next week

3 lil' thoughts
Dear friends,

Thanks for dropping by my little world of thoughts.

I am sorry; I am not able to write any post for these few days. I am preparing for exam that falls on Sat, 29th.

I have broken my personal record by taking 3 days of leave in a row. And yet, spending time checking emails 4 times a day, seeing 20 emails each time, needless to say the time to reply and scratch head to solve the problems, and phone calls every other hour.

Age is catching up, the more I study, the more I forget. Hehehe.. it’s not really a good sign.

Anyway, wish me luck. I can’t wait to complete the exam. The very first thing I would do is to library and get some novels. I am dying, trembling, shaking of novels addiction. Hehehe…

Back to revision….

The Knot Wedding Shop

0 lil' thoughts
This is a sponsored post

One of the reason I realized I am getting older, is when I receive wedding invitations from friends, especially high school friends. Then you start to wonder, “gosh, I have reached the marriageable age”. This word is often used by my mom, “marriageable”. I heard from girl friends that are married, that there is tons of preparation to be done for the big day, some prepared for as long as 2 years! Given a chance, I would like to have one simple reception by the beach, and off to honeymoon in my dreamland. That, for me is a perfect wedding. :-)

Well, many people would tell me, wedding is once-in-a-lifetime kind of event, so we have to prepare well, and live with no regrets. So, let’s talk a bit about my dream wedding. I’ll engage The Knot Wedding Shop for unique wedding favor ideas.

I am one lazy girl when it comes to hassles. So, one-stop shop like The Knot Wedding Shop solves my headache. They offer brides-to-be a 24-hour accessibility, so if you can’t contain your excitement being a bride, they are round the clock for you. :-)

The Knot Wedding Shop offers you services starting from the day you say “yes” to the proposal. They plan for your ceremonies, 1000 over wedding supplies from candles, guestbook, wedding postage, magazines and music, jewelry & accessories for men and women, bridesmaid gifts, groomsman gifts, parent’s gifts, cakes, candles, flowers, glasses and the list goes on and on.

Now I know why such long preparation needs to be done. So many things! Luckily The Knot Wedding Shop is to the rescue. :-)

Pain pain please go away....

7 lil' thoughts
My lower back started aching more than a week ago, but I ignored it. Then it became worse and I couldn’t walk for long, sit for long nor stand for long. Each time, I have to bend forward, stretch a bit and feel better.

On Monday, because I couldn’t bear the pain, I went to the Chinese Sinsei I saw when I “injured” my arm few months back. After the acupuncture, “tui-na” and “suction-dunno-wat”, I somehow felt better.

Till Tuesday, when it was time to knock off, I felt exhausted. The pain came back.

On Wednesday morning, when I woke up as usual, the pain was terrible. I need to lie down. Because Chinese sinsei MC and consultation fees are not covered by the company, I have to go to GP to get MC. He gave me 2 days.

It was fine on Wednesday, coz I grabbed the opportunity to do some revision. Exam is just around the corner. But I studied for 2 hours, and got to lie down for 4. :-(

On Thursday, while lying in the bed, the pain came back with much intensity. No choice, I have to go to another Chinese sinsei who specialized in “tui-na”. Wow… I should have gone to him in the first place. He used his elbow to “massage” and “unblocked” my vessels.. and I felt so great it last for few days.

Now, I still have slight pain. Probably due to the visit to the old folks home, sponsored by the company or probably due to the 2 hours journey I took yesterday to the West for facial.

Today, I must make it a point to lie down more.

While recuperating, I do not think I would be facing the computer to blog. I’ll be back. Meanwhile, hope my back recover faster. :-)

Tagged by Fiona

2 lil' thoughts
Actually, Fiona didn't drop me a message when she tagged me. Somehow, while I was looking at the Technorati links, I saw my blog appear in Sweet Surrender. Then I asked Fiona if she has tagged me. She has forgotten, but checked and found that she actually did. :-p Forgetful and busy Fiona.

INSTRUCTIONS: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot, like so:

1) sourrain
2. Mistyeiz
3. wuching
4. Bobby
5. ahbong
6. Miss Personality
7. she saw someone making love
8. jeemee
9. kastum
10. narrowband
11. Colleen
12. kev walkabout
13. Belle
14. Irene Sweet Surrender
15. Pookyma

Select 5 people to tag:
Err... I do not know who to tag coz I do not want to re-tag most blogger friends. So, if you want to do this tag, drop me a line. Hehehe...

What were you doing 10 years ago?
Back in 1997, I was in Lower 6. Don’t really remember what exactly I was doing, but I remember very well, Princess Diana died on the night I accepted my first love. Hahaha… the rest is history, but those were memories.

What were you doing 1 year ago?
Last year, I just changed job from the previous worked-till-I-have-no-life company. Started a brand new life here in Rayco, given a brand new VAIO laptop for mobilization. You may think given laptop and handphone not really considered as having life, but trust me, having no life means you have to be in the office until everyone knocked off, and still be there working at past 3am, called back to office on X’mas eve and worked till the following afternoon, no holidays for you, no weekends AND YET get paid like those slackers!

Five snacks you enjoy
Because I am kind of conscious of my weight and the extra layers forming at tummy, I do not really snack. I have gained some weight ever since I joined current company. Good life lah katakan. But because of the gastric problem, I have to eat. FYI, I am not suffering from anorexia (think you can see from my pics that I am not).

So, if I snack, my fave would be (BEWARE! They are all SINFUL food):

1) Potato chips
2) Chocolates
3) Ice cream
4) Desserts
5) Cheese!!!

Five songs that you know all the lyrics.
All Malay Songs (popular during high school era):

1) Teringin by Shima
2) Gerimis Mengundan by Slam
3) Bukan Niat Membalas Derita by Slam
4) Pahit Akan Manis Akhirnya by Ukays
5) Di Persimpang Dilema by Nora

Five things you would do if you were a millionaire
Please refer to the tag If I have a $1 Million....

Five bad habits
1) I laugh out REAL LOUD that you may feel shocked. My bro used to say “the whole village can hear my laughter”. Now my boss says “the whole factory can hear my laughter”.

2) I am a pessimist; always think of the bad side of EVERYTHING.

3) Love to make compulsive purchases. And I want my purchases VERY FAST!

4) I get very irritated, annoyed and I’ll show one kind of face when I hear kids cry out loud and make lots of noise. I know, I am cruel, heartless, whatever you name it. I just like to play with them, not to hear them shout on top of their lungs. :-(

5) Pick on food. Though I am not that fussy about food, but I DO NOT eat food that I DO NOT LIKE, eg. beehoon in soup though I eat fried beehoon, seaweed in soup though I like to munch on them. Hahaha….

Five things you like doing (In no particular sequence :-p)

1) Reading
2) Laughing
3) Traveling
4) Pigging
5) Spending time with him

Five things you would never wear again

1) Monthly disposable contact lens. Even if they are the most expensive ones, they irritate my eyes and caused infection. Now, I wear daily disposable, as and when needed.

2) My first pair of glasses. God, it was HUGE, covered half my face. :-p

3) School shoes. They were ugly.

4) The shoe I bought in Italy. It caused me PAIN! Not just ordinary PAIN, but BITING PAIN!!

5) What else ah?

Five favourite toys.
Not really into toys coz I am sucks in keeping them, so can only list 3.… :-p

1) Barbie. Unfortunately I did not own any, until on my uni graduation day in Aug’02, when my then housemate, Jeannie gave me one. It was a picnic Barbie. :-) My one dream fulfilled.

2) Bear. In my uni days, I slept with a brown bear given by someone then-special. Ever since started working, I do not have any particular feeling towards them. The last bear received was from TW who had one holding a bouquet of fresh roses sent to my home for my birthday in 2004.

3) Batu seremban. Is it considered a toy? Anyone remember them? If not mistaken, there were ways to play it, especially the 6th step. :-p

Innovative Learning

0 lil' thoughts
This is a sponsored post

Our beloved Princess has just turned 4 this year and started school. Ever since she goes to school, she started to speak fluent Chinese. But like any other kids, she is very playful, and do not like to sit still to do her homework. It was a wonder however, that she managed to score more than 90 in most of her papers. :-P

Because she is not motivated to learn more and not guided because parents are working, Score Learning centers can help to make significant academic progress in an innovative tutoring environment.

Score, the Innovative Tutor helps students (and of course shared their parents’ burden) to achieve their goals and reach their academic potential in math, reading, spelling and writing. Their programs include personal academic coaching, positive reinforcement, and a customized curriculum that adapts to each child's pace and learning needs.

Boat Ride For Ah Tat's Farewell

1 lil' thoughts
Ah Tat is leaving Sg on 30th Sep, back to KL for good. I do not really have time to meet him up when he is in Sg. Shopped a few times this half a year, and another blink, he will be gone, leaving me alone in Sg again. 2 years ago, Jenny left me, now Ah Tat’s turn. But this time is slightly different. My younger bro and gf is here. I am not that lonely like I used to be. :-)

We are having a farewell outing with him on 29th Sep, after I finished my exam. Swee Wai booked the boat through her company. The boat ride actually starts from 9am to 5pm, but because my exam ends at 1pm, we’ll board only at 2pm. I supposed 3 hours is good enough. I am not sure, this is the first time I go on a boat. Last time, I took ferry to Batam every week for work. Not sure if I’ll be down with seasick. Hahaha….

Well, Swee Wai will bring fiancé, my bro and gf will confirm later, Ah Tat and me the lone ranger. I’ll take pictures and post here, if no seasick! **crossing my fingers**

Home Improvement

3 lil' thoughts

This is a sponsored post

For more than thirty six years Anglian has been renowned amongst UK homeowners as the place to go for high quality home improvements.

I think this Home Improvement site is good for Auntie Serene if she wants to do some windows replacement at home. Hehe.. probably my room’s windows. :-p I am looking forward to have our windows with double glazing replaced.

Exam is around the corner

3 lil' thoughts
Last night was the last class. Mr. Too gave us tips for exam. I start to have exam fever. There are so many things need to be memorized! And I think age is catching up, the brain memory is used up. Haha…

Choon Tee brought glutinous rice and cup cakes to class. Patrick paid for the pizzas Mr. Too ordered and brought some snacks.

Our bond is stronger in this class. When I took Green Belt, we didn’t really “connect” this way. And so sad, there is no never-ending banquet in the world. Though I do not wish to go classes anymore, I feel sad losing this “commitment”.

All in all, we attended 144 hours of lecture. In which, I think I missed 25 hours! Haha… luckily, still able to meet the 75% attendance requirement, and can sit for exam. :-p

Wish me luck, 23 days to go……

Online Shopping

0 lil' thoughts
Holiday season is just a few months away. Before you know it, it’s Raya Puasa, Deepavali, Halloween, Thanksgiving…. and it’s time to do some online shopping again.

For mom, I’ll get something from Florist. Mom loves flowers, especially those sent to her, as a surprise! Normally we send carnations for Mother’s Day, perhaps it’s time for a change. :-) Lilies, roses, daisies are among the choices.

How about a good bag for sis from Ebags. There are a varieties of bags, ie. designers, totes, leathers and many more.

Because elder princess loves to read, books in BooksAMillion is definitely the best choice. They are having a books clearance sale that offers savings up to 80%. :-)

Last but not least, something for our dear younger princess. Disney Shopping offers wide range of Disney products, including great selections of collectibles, home décor, clothing toys, top-selling Mini Bean Bags, and more. From Mickey to Pooh, Princesses to Buzz Lightyear, you're sure to find your favorite characters

One Flaw in Women ?

5 lil' thoughts
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

You are planning for a holiday and is as hopeless as me when it comes to planning, DialAFlight is a good solution for you and me. DialAFlight is a leading independent UK travel company that offers flights, hotels and travel ideas worldwide.

If planning for holidays in Australia, you can book flights to Australia through DialAFlight. All you have to do is to pick up the phone, dial 0870·333·4488 from 8am to 11pm to check current availability of their best buy fares on cheap flights to Australia, wherever your destination is, Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth, Queensland, or even Gold Coast.

My adventurous colleague would start planning way before his holiday, and have it properly planned, from flights, to hotels, to car rental. DialAFlight is also good for just a short weekend break or beach holidays or spa holidays, you can surf on the web for This Week’s Hotel Deals. This is especially useful when you want to take a breath from your piles of work, right?

Well, it’s just a phone call away. You can have the travel consultants work on your holidays, ensuring all your requirements are fulfilled, tailor-made holiday to exactly how you want it to be. Isn’t that great?

What goes around comes around

2 lil' thoughts
He was tired and aching and on his way home from a long day at work, so he almost didn't see the old lady stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His old Pontiac was still sputtering as he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "Pass it on."

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan ..

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "This isn't a tip, it's a gift. You don't owe me anything. Somebody once helped me out and if you feel you want to pay me back, don't let this chain of love end with you, pass it on."

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it to closing time.

That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard....

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a gentle kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

URL Cash

3 lil' thoughts
Seriously, I do not really know how it works to generate $$$. My sis gave this link to me, and told me that her colleague is obssessed earning $$$.

I tried, it's like creating links in your normal post and whenever your reader click on the links, it's counted. Something like that.

If you have not heard of URL Cash before, click on this, register, and start earning!

Some Jokes

1 lil' thoughts
I am in the class now, feeling so bored, so, browsed through some forum and found these jokes. Share with you two that I like.

**********
A woman after my own heart

A woman was walking down the street when she was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked her for a couple of dollars for dinner.

The woman took out her purse, extracted ten dollars and asked:
"If I give you this money, will you buy a pair of shoes instead of dinner?"
"No," I had to stop buying new shoes years ago, the homeless woman replied.

"Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?" the woman asked.
"No I don't waste time shopping," the homeless woman said. "I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive."

"Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?" the woman asked.
"Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless woman. "I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!"

"Well," said the woman, "I'm not going to give you the money. "Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my hubby and myself tonight."

The homeless Woman was astounded. "Won't your hubby be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting."

The woman replied, "That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and buying new shoes."

Why Men Have Better Friends

Friendship between Women:

A woman didn't come home one night.

The next day she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house.

The man called his wife's 10 best friends. None of them knew anything about it.

Friendship between Men:

Cool Keyboards.... :-)

1 lil' thoughts
I was blog hopping on Sunday while waiting for him to sms from Japan and guess what I found. Something related to the latest “gadget” I bought from Wuxi recently, keyboard. :-)

I was looking for numerical keypad the last trip to Wuxi coz I hate typing numbers from the top row in laptop. I know we can activate the Num Lk and use the “normal” numerical keypad, but honestly, how “normal” is that? I still don’t like it, imagine typing numbers and alphabet in-between, how to Num and un-Num fast? :-(

So, while I was shopping, I found this flexi keyboard. It’s made of rubber and flexi. See?

The colour is nice too. My colleagues love it. Though need a little more effort to type, it constraint my typing speed. Perhaps it’s better coz now, I can type one alphabet by one alphabet and no noise. :-p It’s good for girls with long nails too. See the gap in between the keys and they are made or rubber, so, it won’t hurt your nails. Kekekeke….

Ok, back to my discovery in Share Everything In Life. I am so tempted to get this colourful keyboard!!!! Check it out, it’s so cool.

My eBay purchase(s)....

2 lil' thoughts
I am in the mood to purchase again….. but this time, I do not feel like going anywhere. So, I made some purchases online. All along, I doubt purchases made via eBay coz I am not sure how trustworthy are the people in there.

However, I made my first purchase (definitely not the first online), but the first on eBay. Then I made 3 more purchases in a day.

First purchase – brand new ear ring holder at just S$29.90 (I didn’t bid, just made the enquiry and purchase via emails and smses)

I started ear ring collection since last year. To date, I have more than 40 pairs of ear rings, and studs. I like to match ear rings with the attire for the day. But having so many pairs of ear ring could be a mess. I was looking for a holder when I went shopping but they are quite costly but not so nice. When I went to BKK, I saw nice ones, classical, but I couldn’t bring them back coz I have limited space in the bag. (Lesson learnt, must bring empty bags there next time or purchase a bag to put shopping stuffs)

So, this holder came in handy. He says it’s not as nice as those we saw in BKK, but it serves it purpose, isn’t it? It’s 4-tier, with 196 holes, to contain 92 pairs of ear ring. Imagine, I can buy another 50 pairs of ear ring. Muahahaha…..

The price was just for the holder. I paid additional S$3 to get it delivered to Aljunied. To save this S$3, I have to make my way to Bukit Gombak or Bukit Batok, so, I think, it’s more worthy to spend this amount to get it delivered nearer. :-p But he drove me to Aljunied station to pick it up and he said “this also considered delivery?” :-p

Second purchase – trendy shell ear ring at just S$1.90 (FOC delivery)

Then I saw this ear ring made of shell. Looks great…. So coincidently, after I put the ear ring on the holder, I saw that the blue colour matches the spag I bought in MNG at BKK. Another reason to smile…

The seller sent it the next day and I received it 2 days later. I had it sent to office coz I can’t wait to see it!

Third purchase – brand new Guess shoulder handbag at S$37 (S$9 for delivery)

Recently, I am quite possessed with bags. I have got bag every other week. But I just couldn’t help myself bidding for the bag, and won. So, I paid and the seller had it posted. I have yet received coz it’s posted from Malaysia, perhaps it’s gonna reach me next week. Can’t wait.

Fourth purchase – Guess bag at S$60 (asked to meet up instead coz she charged S$20 for delivery)

I am not going to pay 1/3 of the bag price for delivery, so I made arrangement to meet up with the seller. I didn’t bid for this as well. We arranged via email and smses. But this seller is a pretty girl! Very pretty actually. :-)

So far, I have got 3, left with the third purchase. Overall, I am happy with my purchases. Hehehe…
(Actually I wanted to get a Prada nylon bag at S$350 but not sure if it's a good idea.....)

8 more random things

5 lil' thoughts
I remember being tagged by Xilly to write 8 random things about me. This time, Judy tagged me to write 8 more.

Let’s see….

1) I am a coffee addict. Get headache if I do not get to drink a mouthful by lunch time. Not just normal headache, its a gonna-kill-you-kind-of headache.

2) I used to dread Fridays and love Mondays coz I couldn’t wait to go back to work, but I am changing recently. :-)

3) Love to gaze at the stars and especially love the smiling moon. They make my day (obviously, ends my day well coz it’ll be almost bedtime :-p)

4) I hate boredom, and I get bored easily. Don’t like to keep doing the same thing without progress or result :-)

5) I used to “hate” my landlady a lot (coz she likes to nag), but recently, because of the Hungry Ghost month, I feel relieved she is at home every night. :-)

6) I love my little princess to the max. Missed her very much and set her picture on my mobile as wallpaper. She grows up a lot, so, she’s not really into talking over the phone anymore.

7) Many people describe me as independent but actually I am not. Like Jenny said, I look strong outside, but weak inside, especially my tummy!

8) I don’t like to eat alone, so, most of the times, I would skip meals. And so, I have bad tummy. I suffer from gastric since high school days. Each time, mum will say, ‘your tummy will bleed if you go on that way’.

Let’s see what these 8 bloggers have to say about themselves:
1) Babyfiona
2) Hazel
3) Mike
4) Kev’s Pet
5) Janice
6) Fluffy’s Day Off
7) Jean Chia
8) Sweetpea
