One Flaw in Women ?

5 lil' thoughts
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

You are planning for a holiday and is as hopeless as me when it comes to planning, DialAFlight is a good solution for you and me. DialAFlight is a leading independent UK travel company that offers flights, hotels and travel ideas worldwide.

If planning for holidays in Australia, you can book flights to Australia through DialAFlight. All you have to do is to pick up the phone, dial 0870·333·4488 from 8am to 11pm to check current availability of their best buy fares on cheap flights to Australia, wherever your destination is, Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth, Queensland, or even Gold Coast.

My adventurous colleague would start planning way before his holiday, and have it properly planned, from flights, to hotels, to car rental. DialAFlight is also good for just a short weekend break or beach holidays or spa holidays, you can surf on the web for This Week’s Hotel Deals. This is especially useful when you want to take a breath from your piles of work, right?

Well, it’s just a phone call away. You can have the travel consultants work on your holidays, ensuring all your requirements are fulfilled, tailor-made holiday to exactly how you want it to be. Isn’t that great?

What goes around comes around

2 lil' thoughts
He was tired and aching and on his way home from a long day at work, so he almost didn't see the old lady stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His old Pontiac was still sputtering as he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "Pass it on."

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan ..

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "This isn't a tip, it's a gift. You don't owe me anything. Somebody once helped me out and if you feel you want to pay me back, don't let this chain of love end with you, pass it on."

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it to closing time.

That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard....

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a gentle kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

Seriously, I do not really know how it works to generate $$$. My sis gave this link to me, and told me that her colleague is obssessed earning $$$.

I tried, it's like creating links in your normal post and whenever your reader click on the links, it's counted. Something like that.

If you have not heard of URL Cash before, click on this, register, and start earning!

Some Jokes

1 lil' thoughts
I am in the class now, feeling so bored, so, browsed through some forum and found these jokes. Share with you two that I like.

**********
A woman after my own heart

A woman was walking down the street when she was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked her for a couple of dollars for dinner.

The woman took out her purse, extracted ten dollars and asked:
"If I give you this money, will you buy a pair of shoes instead of dinner?"
"No," I had to stop buying new shoes years ago, the homeless woman replied.

"Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?" the woman asked.
"No I don't waste time shopping," the homeless woman said. "I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive."

"Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?" the woman asked.
"Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless woman. "I haven't had my hair done in 20 years!"

"Well," said the woman, "I'm not going to give you the money. "Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my hubby and myself tonight."

The homeless Woman was astounded. "Won't your hubby be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting."

The woman replied, "That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and buying new shoes."

Why Men Have Better Friends

Friendship between Women:

A woman didn't come home one night.

The next day she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house.

The man called his wife's 10 best friends. None of them knew anything about it.

The next day he told his wife that he had slept over at a friend's house.

Cool Keyboards.... :-)

1 lil' thoughts
I was blog hopping on Sunday while waiting for him to sms from Japan and guess what I found. Something related to the latest “gadget” I bought from Wuxi recently, keyboard. :-)

I was looking for numerical keypad the last trip to Wuxi coz I hate typing numbers from the top row in laptop. I know we can activate the Num Lk and use the “normal” numerical keypad, but honestly, how “normal” is that? I still don’t like it, imagine typing numbers and alphabet in-between, how to Num and un-Num fast? :-(

So, while I was shopping, I found this flexi keyboard. It’s made of rubber and flexi. See?

The colour is nice too. My colleagues love it. Though need a little more effort to type, it constraint my typing speed. Perhaps it’s better coz now, I can type one alphabet by one alphabet and no noise. :-p It’s good for girls with long nails too. See the gap in between the keys and they are made or rubber, so, it won’t hurt your nails. Kekekeke….

Ok, back to my discovery in Share Everything In Life. I am so tempted to get this colourful keyboard!!!! Check it out, it’s so cool.

My eBay purchase(s)....

2 lil' thoughts
I am in the mood to purchase again….. but this time, I do not feel like going anywhere. So, I made some purchases online. All along, I doubt purchases made via eBay coz I am not sure how trustworthy are the people in there.

However, I made my first purchase (definitely not the first online), but the first on eBay. Then I made 3 more purchases in a day.

First purchase – brand new ear ring holder at just S$29.90 (I didn’t bid, just made the enquiry and purchase via emails and smses)

I started ear ring collection since last year. To date, I have more than 40 pairs of ear rings, and studs. I like to match ear rings with the attire for the day. But having so many pairs of ear ring could be a mess. I was looking for a holder when I went shopping but they are quite costly but not so nice. When I went to BKK, I saw nice ones, classical, but I couldn’t bring them back coz I have limited space in the bag. (Lesson learnt, must bring empty bags there next time or purchase a bag to put shopping stuffs)

So, this holder came in handy. He says it’s not as nice as those we saw in BKK, but it serves it purpose, isn’t it? It’s 4-tier, with 196 holes, to contain 92 pairs of ear ring. Imagine, I can buy another 50 pairs of ear ring. Muahahaha…..

The price was just for the holder. I paid additional S$3 to get it delivered to Aljunied. To save this S$3, I have to make my way to Bukit Gombak or Bukit Batok, so, I think, it’s more worthy to spend this amount to get it delivered nearer. :-p But he drove me to Aljunied station to pick it up and he said “this also considered delivery?” :-p

Second purchase – trendy shell ear ring at just S$1.90 (FOC delivery)

Then I saw this ear ring made of shell. Looks great…. So coincidently, after I put the ear ring on the holder, I saw that the blue colour matches the spag I bought in MNG at BKK. Another reason to smile…

The seller sent it the next day and I received it 2 days later. I had it sent to office coz I can’t wait to see it!

Third purchase – brand new Guess shoulder handbag at S$37 (S$9 for delivery)

Recently, I am quite possessed with bags. I have got bag every other week. But I just couldn’t help myself bidding for the bag, and won. So, I paid and the seller had it posted. I have yet received coz it’s posted from Malaysia, perhaps it’s gonna reach me next week. Can’t wait.

Fourth purchase – Guess bag at S$60 (asked to meet up instead coz she charged S$20 for delivery)

I am not going to pay 1/3 of the bag price for delivery, so I made arrangement to meet up with the seller. I didn’t bid for this as well. We arranged via email and smses. But this seller is a pretty girl! Very pretty actually. :-)

So far, I have got 3, left with the third purchase. Overall, I am happy with my purchases. Hehehe…
(Actually I wanted to get a Prada nylon bag at S$350 but not sure if it's a good idea.....)

8 more random things

5 lil' thoughts
I remember being tagged by Xilly to write 8 random things about me. This time, Judy tagged me to write 8 more.

Let’s see….

1) I am a coffee addict. Get headache if I do not get to drink a mouthful by lunch time. Not just normal headache, its a gonna-kill-you-kind-of headache.

2) I used to dread Fridays and love Mondays coz I couldn’t wait to go back to work, but I am changing recently. :-)

3) Love to gaze at the stars and especially love the smiling moon. They make my day (obviously, ends my day well coz it’ll be almost bedtime :-p)

4) I hate boredom, and I get bored easily. Don’t like to keep doing the same thing without progress or result :-)

5) I used to “hate” my landlady a lot (coz she likes to nag), but recently, because of the Hungry Ghost month, I feel relieved she is at home every night. :-)

6) I love my little princess to the max. Missed her very much and set her picture on my mobile as wallpaper. She grows up a lot, so, she’s not really into talking over the phone anymore.

7) Many people describe me as independent but actually I am not. Like Jenny said, I look strong outside, but weak inside, especially my tummy!

8) I don’t like to eat alone, so, most of the times, I would skip meals. And so, I have bad tummy. I suffer from gastric since high school days. Each time, mum will say, ‘your tummy will bleed if you go on that way’.

Let’s see what these 8 bloggers have to say about themselves:
1) Babyfiona
2) Hazel
3) Mike
4) Kev’s Pet
5) Janice
6) Fluffy’s Day Off
7) Jean Chia
8) Sweetpea

If I have a $1 Million....

5 lil' thoughts
I was tagged by Kev to blog about what I would do…. if I have $1,000,000.00… yup, you read it right, ONE MILLION dollars…

Ok, let’s be a bit practical, the very first thing that came to my mind was, what currency? USD? EURO? Pounds? RM? SGD? RMB? Rupiah? JPY? That would make hell lots of difference. Hehehe… so, being a not so greedy me, perhaps I will just settle for SGD…. :-p

Then it goes down to 2 options too….. if I were to be practical and realistic or the other way round. I choose the latter, coz I think I will feel better doing things I really love to. Coz $1M do not happen to anybody on any other day, so, why not. :-)

1) I will buy a house by the sea (not mansion…. just a normal house by the sea)
2) I will travel around the world (except those very “miserable” countries. I can’t stand pathetic scenes), shop, fine dine, massages (well, just shoulder and back please)
3) I also don’t know what I will do if there is any balance, probably another round of traveling?

My first vacation....

8 lil' thoughts
Work….

Been a while since I last wrote here… work have been crazy ever since the promotion. It was the second best birthday present this year, PROMOTION. I supposed we saw it coming, need some motivation to keep people going. And thus, the INCREMENTS throughout (I hope) the company.

From few weeks ago, it was kind of “official” or “un-official” that we will take SQ flights wherever we go. So, we are on our way to get more miles… and edible food on plane. :-p

Vacation….

Day 1

Talking about all that, I finally took my “well-deserved” vacation. I finally made it, to my first vacation in (working) life.

It was Sg National Day on Thurs, so, I took Friday leave for the trip. My first trip to Bangkok (BKK) was 3 years ago, when I first joined my previous company. I went there with a colleague for training on gram load tester machine, and then went sightseeing for 2 days. :-)

Hotel

Stayed in Le Fenix Sukhumvit hotel, which was really nice. The décor was contemporary and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it online. Well, because we went out whole day and didn’t return until late night, we didn’t actually explore to the swimming pool. Haha…
First stop

It was a relaxed trip, we went to pray the very first evening.

Central World Plaza

Then we shopped at Central World Plaza (also known as the former WTC). The plaza was so huge that I don’t think we covered half of it. Bought 2 MNG's spag for 190 Baht each. Cheap.. :-p We walked back to the hotel and midway, I whined. I couldn’t walk no more. :-( We had been walking for practically 3 hours straight…. :-( Counting down to Sukhumvit 3, then 5, then 7…and our hotel was at 11!!! :-p

7-Eleven

Then got a shot of motivation, my favorite sausage at the nearby 7-Eleven. Goodness, 7-Eleven was practically everywhere! There were 3 at just one street. It was so convenient to get milk, and snacks… :-) Too bad we didn’t dare to eat by-the-street food, though they smell really nice. Haha…

Day 2

Typical Thai Food (yummy…)

The next day, we had brunch at a very typical set-up Thai restaurant. They served good tomyam soup and good food. But as you can see, they provide mosquitoes repellant. I was shocked, but realized it was of use!! If you could see the fan behind me, the fan actually turned 3-dimensions…. Not like the fans we have at home, left to right to left… they turned in 360 deg. Impressive….

HUGE Paragon!!

Then we went to shop at Paragon, not just Paragon, but a SUPER HUGE Paragon, with a SUPER HUGE cinema! There were 14 cinemas in all, and the posters were all very HUGE. It was amazing.

Bourne Ultimatum

Sneaks preview in Sg today, and it’ll start showing in Sg on 16th Aug, but we watched it in BKK already. Made sure it’s English version before we bought the tickets. The experience from the moment we bought the tickets, to making the grand entrance into the cinemas, we were awed by the HUGE posters and the SPACE. Goodness, what BKK has is SPACE!!!

The cinema was of 28 seats per row time K rows, means, it could contain at least 308 people at one time. The screen, needless to say, from wall to wall. It was so HUGE that I had trouble seeing everything. The seats were soft and good.

When we were shiok shiok enjoying the advertisements, suddenly everyone stood for the “Royal Anthem”. We were caught by surprise, but stood nevertheless. Show respect ma…
The show was generally "action-packed" but we had headache after the show, coz it was "shaky" all the time, and imagine watching it on a wall to wall screen. It was quite horrible.....

Gourmet Market

After having dinner, we went to the supermarket. It was one of the most systematic and nicely done supermarket we have ever been to in our life. The varieties were all so well-organised.

Back home

We made our way back today. The Suvarnabhumi Airport was amazing. Didn’t realize this when we touched down coz we just took a cab and made our way to hotel. It’s another well-organised place, to our amaze. There were no repetitive shops like in Shanghai Pudong Airport.

Actual Facts

Well, I didn’t know about all this info when I was there, but now that I searched online, I got all this information.

Apparently Paragon is one of the biggest shopping centre in Asia. It has a total gross area of 300,000 square meters. Gourmet Market takes up 8,000 square meters of its space. Major Cineplex is 25,000 square meters big.

Aren’t they just BIG?

Life...

2 lil' thoughts
I wrote a post about my aunt (my dad's side) passed away suddenly, peacefully in her sleep.

Few days ago, I received news from my sis that my aunt's second daughter's (my cousin sis) hubby's artery burst and went into coma. Two days of hospitalisation in IJN cost more than RM50K.

Yesterday, mum called me, crying, saying my cousin bro-in-law passed away. Life is so unpredictable.

With all this uncertainty, we MUST treasure everyone and everything around us. Love all you can...
